đź’ŞBOOK REVEAL: The 'Generation Griffey' Paperback is Here...

We turned an N64 Cartridge into a BOOK... You are gonna love this...

Boom! You asked for it… You got it…

After I initially announced that Generation Griffey: Rankfest was going to be a digital-only book, about a dozen loyal B&B readers wrote me asking if I planned on selling a paperback.

This project is through my Meathead Media imprint, which puts out indy digital books I make specifically for the Books & Biceps crew, so I hadn’t planned on it…

BUT, as the days passed, that first dozen people who asked for a paperback became a few dozen and then 50 and I stopped counting when we neared a hundred DMs and emails and social post replies asking if the book would be in print…

This led to two thoughts:

1) I am a creature of print and I loved the idea of making this available as a paperback.

2) I had an AWESOME idea for the back of the book.

Essentially, to continue the theme of the N64 video game front cover onto the spine and back cover… and the results are… PHENOMENAL.

Look at this:

The back cover has the dark inset label just like the video game and we even recreated the Nintendo branding oval on top. The book now looks JUST LIKE the game it was inspired by.

Check out this video here. Enjoy the next level graphics and CGI:

I knew you’d love it. Like I said, “you asked for it, you got it.”

This paperback book is the PERFECT gift to buy for yourself or to give the 90s dude in your life. Your dad, brother, buddy, husband, uncle… anyone who came of age in the late 80s up to 2000.

It’s an ideal stocking stuffer, house gift for a holiday party and more…

Even better, I made it available now so you’ll have time to order it, wrap it, send it and bring it wherever you want.

If you’ve been waiting to get it, now’s the time.

Our goal is 100 orders today.

We can do this.

90s Forever:

PS: IF YOU ORDERED A DIGITAL VERSION AND YOU WOULD RATHER HAVE A PAPERBACK, JUST DM ME OR REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. I’LL REFUND THE DIGITAL AND YOU CAN ORDER THE PRINT VERSION. THANKS!

If you’re a new reader and aren’t familiar with the book yet (we’ve added over 1,000 readers in the last month alone), here is the back cover copy:

If you still wear your hat backward like Griffey, think all the Prime flavors are dumb because Gatorade Citrus Cooler is the greatest sports drink ever, miss Blockbuster and Tower Records, destroyed your friends in Street Fighter, GoldenEye, and NBA Jam, can quote Tommy Boy and Billy Madison, and never missed Stu Scott on SportsCenter —this book, Generation Griffey, is for you.

I ranked 90 of the '90s things that made your dude childhood legendary. A rankfest, if you will. Ninety columns. By me. For you. For US.

Why Generation Griffey?

First, it’s a great name. We’ve got alliteration, “generation,” and the quintessential athlete of that era: Ken Griffey Jr.

Junior perfectly defines the era for late '80s and '90s kids because the apex of his career matches our childhood. From the day he joined the Mariners’ lineup in 1989 through the next decade, nobody embodied '90s style (the backward hat), swagger (the swing, the smile, the commercials), and coolness (the kicks, the cameos, the crossover stardom) quite like Griffey.
His reign atop the sports/celebrity pyramid (alongside Jordan) from his rookie year in Seattle to his move to the Reds in 2000 serves as the perfect bookend for all of us who grew up in the last decade of the last century.

See? Generation Griffey is a spectacular name for this book.

What are we ranking?

Everything. Well, noteverything, but the 90 most nostalgic things that make us dudes smile all these years later: the movies we quoted, the athletes we loved, the cards we collected, the foods we devoured, the shows we watched, and more. All of it. Got it? Good. Let’s go.

The 90s Nostalgia trip you need is here….
